Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive blend of gospel-soul jazz R&B as well as R&B. She's performed on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's given the name of Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing as well as playing the piano at churches. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the city's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single which featured her vocals Stalk You A House 12, is only available in Japan. It has been re-mixed several times, and it's a major part of her live show. She also has contributed her vocals in The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she was hired as the keyboardist principal for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to be the as Choral Director of Dreamgirls The stage show that was part of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was brought to the attention of America during the four shows per day of 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being invited to sing for the President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
